NorduGrid, the middleware and related projects

Author

Summary, in English

NorduGrid is a collaboration established in 2003 by five Nordic research groups, aiming to develop and support the grid middleware developed by the namesake project in 2002. This middleware became known as the NorduGrid's Advanced Resource Connector (ARC), widely respected for its light-weightiness combined with solid and reliable performance. Simplicity and yet remarkable reliability of this middleware made it the solution of choice for many national and international projects. The NorduGrid Collaboration recently secured funding for further ARC development via two large international projects: the European Union KnowARC and the Nordic NDGF.
