Research
My research is centred on modern (LHC) collider phenomenology with a focus on the theoretical description of jets, in particular modifications of jets in heavy ion collisions, and Monte Carlo event generator development. I have, for instance, developed the event generator JEWEL, which describes jet fragmentation in a nuclear environment in perturbative QCD. I am also involved in the general-purpose event generator SHERPA, where I am working on a unified approach to soft QCD for minimum bias and underlying event physics, as well as a novel kinetic theory based event generator for heavy ion physics.
